SFTP Gateway is a secure and easy-to-use solution for transferring files to and from cloud storage via SFTP. It's also extremely affordable compared to other products or building a solution yourself, costing just six cents by hour, plus your cloud infrastructure charges from Alibaba Cloud.

Easy to set up

SFTP Gateway includes a web admin portal for managing SFTP users. These users can be configured with password or key-based authentication.

By default, each SFTP user maps to a separate location in Object Storage Service (OSS), so they cannot see each other's files. You can also point SFTP users to specific OSS buckets and paths to suit your needs.

Security

SFTP Gateway encrypts data in transit and at rest. SFTP traffic is encrypted as part of the SFTP protocol. File transfer to OSS is encrypted by HTTPS. And files are stored in OSS using the service's default encryption. SFTP files are written directly to OSS directly, and do not touch the local Linux file system.

SFTP Gateway also includes other security features:

• Audit logging
• Brute force protection
• IP whitelisting
• Multiple SSH keys to help with key rotation

Features

SFTP Gateway lets you access OSS via the SFTP protocol. You are reading and writing live data to OSS. 

Although every SFTP implementation is unique, there are some common patterns that we've seen.

One scenario is archiving data to OSS using an SFTP client. SFTP Gateway writes files directly to OSS without touching the Linux file system, so you don't need to worry about running out of disk space.

Another scenario is that you have multiple external users that should not see each other's data, and one internal admin that manages everyone else's files via SFTP. For this, we have a folder mapping system where you can configure sharing scenarios.

SFTP Gateway also has a backup and restore feature in the web admin portal for disaster recovery.
